Antibodies against nucleosomes are detected in sera from patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). However, their relevance as characteristic markers for SLE was until now limited as the standardization is still limited. However increasing literature supports a higher sensitivity and specificity towards SLE and is especially important in dsDNA negative SLEpatients.
