Antibodies against dsDNA are specific for systemic lupus erythematosus. Besides antibodies against Sm, they are a serological marker (ACR Criterion) for this disease with a prevalence of 40%-95%, especially in Active SLE. dsDNA antibodies are also reported in other Rheumatic diseases though in lesspercentage.
